Last year, in my Designing Social Interactions class, we were assigned a project titled:

Public Intervention.

In short the assignment was to create an interactive exhibit where the unsuspecting public would see what you have made and hopefully be changed by what you have done.

The immediate response to this prompt was to create something about science education. Following through with that, I wondered how I could really make something scientific, intriguing, and with enough substance to make someone see it and think to themselves “Wow, our universe really is amazing.”

Using various calculations I made a miniature scale version of the solar system and placed it at various locations on Massachusetts Street in Lawrence, Kansas.
